About the role
ALS Food & Pharmaceutical is seeking an experienced Sales & Business Development Specialist to join its Hamilton team. You will drive new business opportunities, build client relationships and expand our market presence in the scientific testing sector.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business leads in traditional and emerging markets.
- Build and nurture client relationships to increase market exposure.
- Research market trends, drivers and potential clients to uncover opportunities.
- Prepare quotations, tenders, technical bulletins and marketing materials.
- Ensure timely delivery of quotations and tenders.
- Network through industry associations, events and social media platforms.
- Support the Business Development Manager as required.
- Adhere to ALS global policies, directives and brand standards.
Required profile
- Proven sales track record, preferably in a laboratory or science‑based environment.
- Self‑starter with the ability to independently identify and build relationships.
- Client‑focused with strong organisational, negotiation and problem‑solving abilities.
- Professional demeanour and a quality‑service attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and respond to internal customer needs.
- Enthusiastic, motivated, adaptable and quick to learn.
Required skills
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong networking experience, including LinkedIn and Twitter.
