Room Attendant – Luxury Hotel

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Room Attendant to join the housekeeping team at Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour. In this role you will ensure guest rooms and public areas meet the brand’s luxury standards, providing a warm and memorable experience for every guest.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and service guest rooms, balconies, bathrooms, and public areas to Sofitel luxury standards.
• Perform scheduled deep‑cleaning tasks such as carpet cleaning, grout, shower heads, mini‑bars, air‑conditioning units and cabinetry.
• Assist with turn‑down service, bed making, and preparation of extra beds, roll‑away beds, cots and accessible room equipment.
• Maintain immaculate presentation, hygiene and cleanliness across all hotel areas.
• Respond professionally to guest requests, escalating when necessary.
• Handle cleaning chemicals safely and operate housekeeping equipment responsibly.
• Support laundry duties, linen distribution, stock replenishment and heavy lifting as required.
• Report maintenance issues, defective equipment or safety concerns promptly.
• Follow security, key control and guest confidentiality procedures.

Required profile

• Previous housekeeping experience in a luxury hotel environment is preferred.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Physical fitness to stand, lift, push and pull for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
