Risk & Controls Analyst

About the role

Centrapay is building a trusted payments platform for businesses and consumers in New Zealand and Australia. We are looking for a proactive Risk & Controls Analyst to design, test and improve our control framework, investigate anomalies and support regulatory reporting. This hands‑on role will work closely with engineering, product, operations and leadership to embed risk‑aware practices across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and maintenance of Centrapay/Payap’s control framework.
• Design, test and remediate controls to close risk gaps.
• Build practical assurance approaches and lead periodic testing cycles.
• Prepare risk, controls and compliance reports and investigate data anomalies.
• Support regulatory and governance reporting requirements.
• Drive automation of assurance and measurement activities.
• Assist with audits, accreditations and compliance programmes.
• Conduct security risk assessments for systems and third‑party vendors, track vulnerability remediation and facilitate risk workshops.

Required profile

• 5+ years experience in risk management, information security, or technology risk.
• Background in financial services or a regulated fintech environment.
• Proven ability to work with both technical and non‑technical teams and translate complex concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a keen eye for patterns and inconsistencies.
