Residence Manager – Youth Justice Residence

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Residence Manager to lead Korowai Manaaki, a 24/7 Youth Justice Residence located in Wiri, Auckland. This permanent, on‑site position offers the opportunity to drive meaningful change for young people within the justice system.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the residence, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for youth.
• Lead, mentor and manage a multidisciplinary team of staff and contractors.
• Develop and implement programmes that promote rehabilitation, education and wellbeing.
• Coordinate with justice agencies, community partners and families to align services.
• Monitor compliance with legislative and organisational standards.
• Manage budgets, resources and reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in residential or youth justice settings.
• Strong leadership and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
• Understanding of relevant New Zealand legislation and best practices.
