Research Scientist – AI Model Training (Remote)

About the role
We are seeking a Research Scientist to join our remote team and help train AI models. You will design and present complex physics problems to AI chat‑bots, measure their progress, evaluate logic and performance, and work on solutions that improve model quality. The position can be full‑time or part‑time and is open to candidates based in New Zealand.
Key responsibilities
- Provide AI chat‑bots with challenging physics problems and assess their outputs.
- Measure and report on the progress of AI models in terms of correctness and performance.
- Identify and solve issues that affect model quality.
- Collaborate on project selection and manage your own schedule.
Required profile
- Fluent English (native or bilingual level).
- Detail‑oriented with a strong grasp of classical mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics and basic quantum concepts.
- Background in physics or related fields such as astrophysics, biophysics, electrical, nuclear or chemical engineering, or mathematics.
- Current, in‑progress or completed Master’s or PhD preferred but not mandatory.
