Relationship Associate

About the role

The Relationship Associate supports Relationship Managers in Business Banking, helping customers access the right solutions and providing financial analysis and lending support. Based in Greymouth or Christchurch, this permanent role offers a pathway to develop credit and relationship skills, with the potential to manage a small credit portfolio after 12 months.

Key responsibilities

• Listen to customers, understand their business needs and service requirements.
• Collaborate with Relationship Managers, Senior Managers and product partners to design and deliver appropriate banking solutions.
• Conduct financial analysis and interpret customer information to support accurate credit decisions.
• Assist in growing and maintaining the customer base by building strong relationships and delivering insightful recommendations.
• Provide timely resolution of customer concerns and ensure compliance with credit policies.

Required profile

• Experience in a customer‑facing role with a focus on relationship building.
• Strong analytical ability to assess financial trends and implications.
• Tertiary qualification in a financial discipline or relevant lending experience.
• Understanding of security arrangement structuring.
• Previous experience in the banking or finance industry.
