About the role

Forensicare is seeking a Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join its specialist forensic mental health service in Dunedin Central. You will work in a purpose‑built facility delivering high‑quality care to patients within a collaborative, research‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to individuals with complex psychiatric and forensic needs.
• Conduct assessments, develop and implement care plans, and monitor patient progress.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and correctional staff.
• Participate in research projects and educational activities to enhance service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain accurate clinical documentation.

Required profile

• Current registration as a Psychiatric Nurse in New Zealand.
• Experience working in mental health, preferably within forensic or correctional settings.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence‑based practice.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and care planning for psychiatric patients.
