Registered Nurse – Theatre

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Registered Nurse to join our Theatre team at a leading private surgical hospital in Auckland. The role is full‑time permanent (40 hrs/week) and involves delivering high‑quality peri‑operative care in a fast‑paced surgical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout the surgical pathway, from pre‑operative preparation to post‑operative recovery.
• Assist the surgical team during procedures, ensuring aseptic technique and patient safety.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to manage patient flow and theatre scheduling.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to evidence‑based practice.
• Participate in emergency response and critical incident management within the operating suite.

Required profile

• Current NZ Nursing Council Practising Certificate with a scope covering theatre practice.
• Valid New Zealand working rights.
• Minimum three years post‑graduate experience in an operating theatre in New Zealand.
• Experience in at least one of the following specialties: Orthopaedics, Plastics, Laparoscopic, ENT, Gynaecology, Urology, Robotic or General surgery.
• Demonstrated clinical competence, evidence‑based practice and ability to work under pressure.
• Collaborative, patient‑centred attitude.
