Registered Nurse – Telehealth Helpline

About the role

PlunketLine operates a 24/7 free telehealth helpline that supports families with children under five. As a Registered Nurse you will use your clinical expertise to provide advice, triage urgent situations, and guide caregivers through everyday parenting challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Answer inbound calls around the clock, addressing health and wellbeing queries for children under five.
• Assess callers’ symptoms, provide evidence‑based advice, and determine when escalation is required.
• Document interactions accurately in the call‑centre system while maintaining confidentiality.
• Participate in ongoing training and receive on‑call support from Clinical Leaders.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse qualification with current practising registration.
• Experience in paediatrics, emergency, or urgent care.
• Strong listening, assessment, and decision‑making abilities.
• Resilience and ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

Required skills

• High level of computer literacy and comfort using multiple software systems.
