Registered Nurse – Community Child Health (0.9 FTE)

About the role

Whānau Āwhina Plunket is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its community team, supporting the health and wellbeing of infants, children and their families. This permanent 0.9 FTE role offers flexible working hours with occasional Saturday shifts, allowing you to make a lasting impact on early‑year wellness across generations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct home visits and clinic appointments to assess growth and development of children.
• Build trusting relationships with families, providing culturally appropriate, holistic support.
• Identify and address parenting challenges, ensuring safe and healthy home environments.
• Collaborate with a motivated multidisciplinary team to deliver personalized care.
• Maintain accurate records and adhere to professional standards and risk‑management protocols.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse, preferably with paediatric or primary‑care experience.
• Hold or be able to obtain an Annual Practicing Certificate.
• Full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence.
• Commitment to complete a Post‑Graduate Certificate in Well‑Child Care (employer funded).
• Resourceful, resilient and comfortable working autonomously in community settings.

• Excellent active‑listening and communication abilities.
• Sound judgement for risk assessment and decision‑making.
