About the role
We are seeking a friendly, professional and organised Receptionist to join our Wellington dental practice on a full‑time fixed‑term basis. You will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience.
Key responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally.
- Manage the reception area to maintain a welcoming environment.
- Answer and direct phone calls promptly and courteously.
- Schedule and manage patient appointments using dental practice management software.
- Maintain accurate patient records and administrative documentation.
- Process patient check‑ins and check‑outs, including payments where required.
- Provide administrative support to the clinical team.
- Handle patient enquiries with empathy and professionalism.
- Keep the reception area clean, organised and hygienic.
- Perform accurate data entry and general administrative duties.
Required profile
- Previous reception or administration experience preferred.
- Experience in a healthcare or dental environment is advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
- Professional presentation and a positive attitude.
- Reliable, proactive and team‑oriented.
- Patient‑focused and customer‑service driven approach.
Required skills
- Confidence using computers and data‑entry systems.
- Proficiency with dental practice management software.
