Receptionist – Dental Practice

About the role

The Smile Centre Canterbury is a modern dental practice offering specialist services such as implants, endodontics and orthodontics. As the first point of contact, the receptionist ensures every patient feels welcomed and supported from arrival through to treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly in person and over the phone, answering queries and creating a relaxed environment.
• Manage the diary and appointments, handling bookings, cancellations and rescheduling efficiently.
• Explain processes and treatment options, support payment transactions and clarify private vs NHS services.
• Maintain accurate patient records, manage confidential information and keep the reception area professional.
• Handle concerns and complaints with empathy, aiming for positive outcomes.
• Assist clinicians with smooth handovers and support the Practice Manager in daily operations.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a customer‑focused role.
• Strong verbal communication skills, both face‑to‑face and over the phone.
• Confident use of IT systems for bookings and record keeping.
• Proactive, flexible and willing to support the team wherever needed.
• Professional, empathetic and passionate about delivering excellent service.
