Quality Technician

About the role

ABB is seeking a Quality Technician to support its Medium Voltage Switch Gear business in New Zealand. You will work on‑site, collaborating with production, engineering, warehouse and supply‑chain teams to ensure the quality management system runs smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Quality team in implementing and maintaining the quality system, including audits and controls.
• Support quality assurance activities across production, engineering and other stakeholders.
• Collect, analyse and report quality KPIs, issues and customer cases.
• Maintain accurate process documentation and inspection logs.
• Use measurement systems to generate reliable data on materials, products and processes.
• Promote safety by performing tasks in a safe manner and setting an example for colleagues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management or Industrial Manufacturing.
• 3‑5 years of proven experience in quality control and assurance.
• Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001:2015.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication and organisational skills.
