Quality Lead – Manufacturing Operations

About the role

The Quality Lead will head the Quality and Technical function at Visy's Board site in Wiri, Auckland. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for site‑wide quality performance, ensuring products meet specifications while driving continuous improvement, cost reduction and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Own site quality, meeting specification and DIFOT targets
• Reduce non‑conformance, rework and cost of poor quality
• Lead and improve the Quality Management System
• Ensure ISO, HACCP, FSC, GMP and food‑safety compliance
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean and root‑cause analysis
• Oversee testing, verification and laboratory operations
• Lead audits, regulatory compliance and external engagement
• Build capability and foster a strong site quality culture

Required profile

• Experience leading quality or technical functions in manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of quality systems, HACCP and risk management
• Experience in continuous improvement, Lean and problem solving
• Strong data capability with ability to analyse trends and drive outcomes
• Ability to influence stakeholders across operations and leadership teams
• Experience managing audits, compliance and regulatory requirements
• FMCG or food‑related manufacturing experience (desirable)
• Customer‑facing experience and stakeholder management capability
• Strong leadership with the ability to coach and develop teams
