Quality Assurance Officer – Three Waters

About the role

The Quality Assurance Officer will support the Quality & Compliance Team in delivering and monitoring Christchurch's water safety, stormwater management, and environmental plans. You will work on a variety of projects, conducting site audits, sampling, and analysing data to ensure compliance with legislation and council consent conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of Water Safety Plans, Stormwater Management Plans and Environmental Management Plans.
• Conduct on‑site audits and sampling activities across the three‑waters network.
• Research, analyse and report data to inform compliance decisions.
• Ensure all activities meet relevant legislation and council consent conditions.
• Provide recommendations and findings to senior council stakeholders.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in environmental science, engineering, water resources or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in auditing, reporting or an engineering environment.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills for communication with internal stakeholders.
• Valid Class 1 driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency with spreadsheets.
• Experience using databases for research and analysis.
