Qualified Electrician / Solar Installer (Waitomo)

About the role

We are looking for a qualified electrician with solar installation experience to join our growing team in Waitomo. The role involves working on a variety of electrical projects, primarily focused on solar energy systems, and offers the opportunity to lead a small crew.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission and maintain solar photovoltaic systems on residential and commercial sites.
• Perform electrical wiring, conduit work, and connection to the grid in compliance with New Zealand standards.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults on site and provide timely repairs.
• Lead and mentor a small team of apprentices or helpers during project execution.
• Ensure all work follows health and safety regulations and company quality standards.

Required profile

• Current electrical licence or qualification recognised in New Zealand.
• Proven experience installing solar PV systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Required skills

• Electrical wiring and circuit installation.
• Solar photovoltaic system installation.
• Use of multimeter and other electrical testing equipment.
