QA Supervisor – Part‑time Fixed‑term (12 months)

About the role

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our QA team at the industrial bakery in Glenfield, Auckland. Reporting to the QA Manager NZ, you will develop, plan and execute in‑plant QA programmes to ensure compliance with ARYZTA’s specifications, legislative requirements and customer expectations. This is a 12‑month maternity cover on a part‑time basis (3 days per week).

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing, implementing and monitoring QA programmes from raw materials to finished goods.
• Conduct daily audits of quality systems, control checks and processes and report findings.
• Maintain accurate QA documentation, manuals and records.
• Perform product shelf‑life and environmental testing; analyse and distribute lab results promptly.
• Support labelling compliance, allergen and nutrition verification programmes.
• Collaborate with Production and R&D teams on new product development.
• Investigate internal non‑conformances and customer complaints; raise supplier non‑conformances and drive resolution.
• Provide training and support to team members on quality standards, food safety and best practices.
• Uphold compliance with ARYZTA Quality Policy, Food Safety and Product Quality Procedures.

Required profile

• Results‑driven QA professional with strong attention to detail.
• Passion for quality and food safety.
• Ability to solve problems, support teams and impact product integrity.
• Previous experience in a similar QA role within the food industry (highly desirable).
• Degree in Food Science, Microbiology or related field.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP and Quality Management Systems.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across teams.
• Strong organisation, planning and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Proactive mindset and ability to work independently.
