Project Manager

About the role

Downers Energy & Utilities is seeking a Project Manager to join its Invercargill team. You will lead the delivery of complex projects, manage stakeholder relationships and ensure that contracts meet quality and schedule expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with client representatives, anticipate and resolve issues, and provide effective customer service.
• Monitor contract performance, ensuring quality and timeframe requirements are met.
• Implement control frameworks, track project budgets and report progress to stakeholders.
• Verify accuracy of monthly claims, forecasts and cost‑to‑complete figures.
• Contribute to project methodologies, budgets and programmes for construction contracts.
• Allocate people, plant, technology and other resources to achieve project outcomes.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Project Manager, preferably in the water industry or civil construction.
• Experience managing multiple sites, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Demonstrated ability with monthly claims, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Commitment to safety leadership and Zero Harm principles.
