Project Manager

About the role

Downer is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its tier‑one contract for Powerco in Waikato, New Zealand. The role involves overseeing a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects, managing financial performance and ensuring timely delivery to high standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage projects to specification, within budget and agreed timeframes.
• Coordinate resources effectively against the project plan.
• Facilitate timely and accurate invoicing and customer documentation.
• Provide engineering, design, estimation services, quotations and as‑built information.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor and report project expenditure and revenues to control profitability.
• Escalate issues that may impact deliverables.
• Lead project completion reviews and conduct quality audits for compliance with contract, design, construction and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Proven project management experience.
• Strong commercial acumen.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong time‑management and organisational abilities.
