Project Manager – Data & AI

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Account Manager & Project Manager (3‑5 years) to act as a trusted advisor for our clients and lead data and AI initiatives. The role blends client engagement, commercial growth and project leadership within a fast‑growing New Zealand data and AI consultancy.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong client partnerships, understand goals and identify data/AI opportunities while serving as the primary point of contact.
• Lead data, analytics and AI projects from discovery through delivery, defining scope, timelines, resources and budgets.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to high quality standards; manage risks, dependencies and stakeholder expectations.
• Collaborate with data engineers, architects, data scientists and analysts; facilitate workshops and translate business challenges into actionable outcomes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of delivery processes and value creation for customers.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in account management, project management, customer success, consulting or a similar client‑facing role.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
• Strong commercial awareness and relationship‑building skills.
• Interest in data, analytics, AI or technology consulting.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience with Agile delivery approaches and tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Asana or Trello.
• Growth mindset, positive attitude and passion for solving customer challenges.
• Commitment to continuous learning and personal development.
• Auckland‑based and able to meet clients on‑site when required.
