Project Manager – BRAVE Vaccine Data Network

About the role

This 15‑month fixed‑term position is based in Auckland and will lead the delivery of the BRAVE project, an international vaccine safety research programme coordinated by the Global Vaccine Data Network and funded by CEPI.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage day‑to‑day activities of the BRAVE project across a global consortium of research partners.
• Ensure deliverables, milestones, budgets and reporting obligations are met and provide clear visibility of progress, issues and dependencies.
• Support project governance, risk management and decision‑making processes.
• Collaborate with funders, international partners, site leads and internal specialists to align activities and expectations.
• Oversee change control, quality assurance and compliance with contractual and funder requirements.
• Assist with financial oversight together with finance specialists and partner sites.
• Drive communication, stakeholder updates, presentations and dissemination activities.
• Promote the use of digital collaboration tools and continuous‑improvement practices.
• Occasionally travel (1‑2 trips per year) to partner sites and manage relationships across time zones.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing complex, multi‑national research or development programmes.
• Strong stakeholder‑management and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexibly and virtually with teams in different time zones.
• Experience with project governance, risk and budget oversight.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required.
