Project Manager - Airfield Infrastructure (Fixed-Term 2 Years)

About the role

You will lead the delivery of major airfield and civil infrastructure projects at Auckland Airport, guiding them from concept and design through construction, commissioning and handover. The role requires balancing project delivery with the operational realities of a live airport environment where safety and continuity are paramount.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex airfield projects such as runway, taxiway, apron pavement, drainage, AGL and fuel infrastructure.
• Manage internal financial governance, scope, programme, cost, quality, safety and risk reporting.
• Coordinate construction activities within an operational airside environment.
• Oversee consultants, contractors and commercial outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with Auckland Airport, CAA and ICAO Annex 14 standards.
• Support procurement, contract management, commissioning, operational readiness and asset handover.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Aviation Management or related field.
• 8+ years delivering major infrastructure or civil construction projects.
• Strong governance, commercial, contract and stakeholder management capability.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and contractors.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
