Project Engineer – Pre‑Contracts

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a Project Engineer to join its pre‑contracts team in Auckland. Working at the front end of the project lifecycle, you will help shape winning strategies, develop smart construction methodologies and strengthen the company’s competitive edge on major civil infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and coordination of tender submissions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Develop construction methodologies, staging plans and sequencing for civil projects.
• Support estimators by building cost models, including quantities, productivity rates and resource planning.
• Identify project risks and contribute to mitigation strategies during the bid phase.
• Liaise with designers, subcontractors and suppliers to obtain technical inputs and pricing.
• Support the development of preliminary project programmes and timelines using planning tools.
• Ensure all tender submissions meet client specifications, regulatory requirements and company standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in civil infrastructure, preferably in general civils and roads within NZTA frameworks.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
