Project Engineer

About the role

ConsultANZ is seeking a Project Engineer to join a leading civil engineering firm in Wellington. You will be responsible for coordinating daily site activities and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage daily site operations, monitoring safety, schedule, and cost performance.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation such as ITPs, RFIs, NCRs, QA records, and construction methodologies.
• Assist with project planning, programming, procurement, and subcontractor management.
• Track project costs, productivity, and resource allocation.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal site teams.
• Support Project Managers with reporting, forecasting, and commercial management.
• Coordinate survey, design, and construction activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 years of experience as a Site Engineer or Project Engineer in civil construction.
• Experience on marine, port, bridge, earthworks, ground improvement, or heavy civil infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of quality assurance systems and construction documentation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced project environment.
