Project Engineer – Civil Structures (Permanent)

About the role

We are seeking experienced Civil Engineers specializing in structures to join a leading New Zealand civil engineering firm. The positions are permanent and based in Auckland or Tauranga, offering the chance to relocate and build a long‑term career in a country renowned for its lifestyle.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate crews, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure safe and efficient site progress.
• Schedule project works and procure contractor services.
• Prepare project documentation, cost estimates, correspondence and progress records.
• Provide technical expertise, resolve on‑site issues and support quality outcomes.
• Monitor safety, environmental and quality performance across the work area.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and internal teams.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering accredited by the Washington Accord or Sydney Accord.
• Minimum 5 years of civil construction experience in structural projects.
• Proven application of Project Management principles.
• Strong knowledge of site operations, project planning, programming and cost control.
• Ability to lead teams, manage stakeholders and solve problems in real time.
• Working knowledge of relevant legislation.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
