Programme Architect

About the role
As a Programme Architect based in Wellington, you will lead the architectural direction for two high‑profile programmes – the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) transformation and the Exit Marshall Smart lane (EMS) initiative. Both programmes aim to modernise core processes and deliver a seamless, digital experience for international travellers.
Key responsibilities
- Define and maintain the overall architecture for the HRIS and EMS programmes, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy.
- Collaborate with programme and project managers to plan delivery schedules while safeguarding architectural integrity.
- Identify and manage risks, dependencies and requirements across the two programmes.
- Engage with senior stakeholders, translating technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
- Influence decision‑making by providing strategic guidance on technology choices and solution designs.
Required profile
- Proven experience leading architectural governance for large‑scale, cross‑functional initiatives.
- Strong relationship‑building, negotiation and influencing abilities.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, especially when communicating with non‑technical audiences.
- Ability to synthesize complex information and present actionable insights.
