Professional Support Lawyer – Property (Part‑Time)

About the role
Chapman Tripp is seeking a senior property lawyer to work part‑time (15‑20 hours per week) as a Professional Support Lawyer within its national Property team. The role focuses on influencing quality, consistency and best practice across the practice while staying connected to substantive property work.
Key responsibilities
- Design, update and deliver property training and CPD sessions, including conveyancing training for law clerks, lateral hires and junior lawyers nationwide.
- Provide Landonline usage and compliance training and maintain related practice notes and guidance.
- Mentor junior lawyers and act as a senior sounding board on complex or unusual property issues.
- Respond to precedent, know‑how and information queries from the Property team and other firm teams.
- Draft and update precedents, procedure documents and practical legal updates to reflect changes in law and practice.
- Maintain the Property team site and reference materials, ensuring resources are current and accessible.
- Support practice compliance processes, including Landonline filing guidance, RLWT, bright‑line resources, forms, certifications and audit preparation.
Required profile
- Strong property law experience, preferably from a commercial law firm.
- Excellent technical legal skills, sound judgement, strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
- Passion for sharing knowledge, mentoring others and driving continuous improvement.
- Ability to translate complex legal and procedural information into practical guidance, precedents and training materials.
- Collaborative approach with proven ability to build trusted relationships across teams and offices.
- Experience with Landonline processes and property practice compliance is an advantage.
