Production Technician

About the role

The Production Technician will join the Global Animal Health Manufacturing team in Upper Hutt, New Zealand. Working on a permanent, full‑time basis, you will help produce antigens and vaccines that meet strict quality standards for global markets.

Key responsibilities

• Manufacture antigen and/or vaccine according to set production schedules and SOPs.
• Operate equipment in line with SOPs and Good Documentation Practice (GDP).
• Document all tasks in batch records, worksheets or logs.
• Maintain good housekeeping and plan daily workload.
• Communicate with manufacturing team members and other departments to ensure smooth product flow.
• Provide on‑the‑job training to other technicians.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and minimize deviations.
• Investigate root causes of deviations and identify corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Complete deviation reports and implement agreed CAPA within required timeframes.
• Maintain and review documentation (SOPs, batch records, worksheets) to ensure GMP compliance.

Required profile

• Science degree or equivalent (preferred).
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with a global team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Experience using SAP.
