Procurement Specialist

About the role

We are hiring multiple Procurement Specialists to support New Zealand central government agencies. The positions are available as either permanent or contract roles and can be performed remotely from anywhere in New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

• Run tender processes from start to finish, including drafting specifications and evaluating bids.
• Lead sourcing and category management activities for government panels.
• Manage supplier contracts and maintain relationships with approved vendors.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across various agencies to ensure procurement compliance.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in procurement, tender management, and contract administration.
• Background in the public sector is advantageous, though strong private‑sector experience where you owned the tender process is also acceptable.
• Legal right to work in New Zealand.
