Procurement and Contract Coordinator

About the role

The Procurement and Contract Coordinator will join KiwiRail’s Auckland Commercial Team, supporting the Group Procurement function. The role ensures compliance with governance and government procurement rules while delivering category insights and contract administration for rail operations.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Procurement and Process Improvement Manager in developing SIPOC processes and mapping them in Visio and ARIS.
• Analyse complex data and provide fact‑based category insights to business stakeholders.
• Conduct sourcing activities, evaluate responses, facilitate moderation meetings and make supplier recommendations.
• Draft commercial contracts, variations, and manage key performance indicators and risk clauses.
• Administer vendor approval, contractor onboarding, conflict‑of‑interest processes, and contract repository.
• Investigate invoice queries, manage supplier relationships and support change‑management plans.
• Perform procurement functions using the Government Electronic Tendering System (GETS).

Required profile

• Experience in procurement, contract administration or related commercial functions.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal governance stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ARIS process modelling.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Visio for SIPOC mapping.
• Experience using the Government Electronic Tendering System (GETS).
