Process Worker – Manufacturing (Otahuhu)

About the role

Join the bedding production team at Sleepyhead’s Otahuhu facility, where you’ll be involved in hands‑on manufacturing tasks across a range of work centres. You’ll receive full training and the chance to become multi‑skilled in mattress assembly, sewing, quilting, packing and more.

Key responsibilities

• Perform manual production tasks and operate machinery in line with safety and quality standards.
• Follow operational and safety procedures for all production activities.
• Ensure raw materials and finished goods meet quality specifications and complete quality checks.
• Maintain accurate production records and housekeeping standards.
• Report hazards, equipment breakdowns and non‑conformances promptly.
• Participate in job rotation, training and OHS improvement activities.
• Assist with additional duties as directed by supervisors.

Required profile

• Motivated, reliable team player who enjoys hands‑on work.
• Comfortable with manual handling and physical tasks.
• Strong commitment to safety, punctuality and quality.
• Willingness to learn and work across multiple production areas.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Manufacturing experience is an advantage but not essential.

Required skills

• Forklift licence (advantageous for some positions).
