Process Operator – Dairy Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for motivated, safety‑focused Process Operators to join our Process Operations Team at Mataura Valley Milk. In this role you will ensure the safe, efficient and high‑quality operation of our milk‑powder production plant, working across milk reception, wet‑mix, drying and evaporation areas.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor plant equipment to maintain efficient production.
• Maintain product quality, yield and overall process efficiency.
• Follow all health, safety and food‑safety requirements and report hazards or incidents.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives and suggest process enhancements.
• Maintain accurate documentation and production records.
• Collaborate with the wider operations team to achieve plant targets.

Required profile

• Experience in a manufacturing or food‑production environment, preferably dairy.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
• Good mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn technical processes.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented setting.
• Effective communication and basic computer literacy.
• Forklift licence or relevant industry qualifications are a plus.
