Principal Engineer

About the role

This is a high‑impact Principal Engineer position within a large, complex banking environment undergoing a major transformation. You will join a technically strong squad focused on modernising core platforms, advancing integration capabilities, and shaping the future technology landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development layer, raising engineering standards, principles and best practices.
• Design and drive integration across Salesforce, nCino and broader platforms, including API design and service architecture.
• Act as a thought leader for architectural decisions, ensuring alignment with regulatory and enterprise standards.
• Shape and embed CI/CD pipelines, development frameworks and engineering governance.
• Provide direction on data architecture, system design and integration strategy.
• Support the adoption of AI and emerging technologies as part of the roadmap.
• Influence senior stakeholders and clarify complex technical and business challenges.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating across engineering, integration, data and architecture in a regulated banking or financial services context.
• Ability to own standards, guide best practice and influence large‑scale system design.
• Strategic mindset with a hands‑on approach to delivery.

Required skills

• Salesforce platform expertise.
• Exposure to nCino lending workflows.
• API design and integration (REST APIs, event‑driven architecture, microservices).
• CI/CD pipeline implementation and engineering governance.
• Data architecture and distributed systems knowledge.
• Azure cloud services (nice to have).
• Snowflake or modern cloud data platforms (nice to have).
