Practice Nurse

About the role

The University of Auckland is seeking two Practice Nurses to work in its student health clinics on the Grafton and City campuses. The role is full‑time, permanent and focuses on providing primary health services to students, with an emphasis on sexual health, mental health and overall wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to students, including health assessments, vaccinations and wound care.
• Provide sexual health services, such as contraception advice and STI screening.
• Support mental health initiatives and refer students to appropriate counselling resources.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to health promotion activities.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, doctors and administrative staff.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse in New Zealand with a current practising certificate.
• Experience in a multidisciplinary health setting, preferably with young adults.
• Interest or experience in sexual health and mental health services.
• Willingness to obtain or hold an Independent Authorised Vaccinator Certificate.

• Competitive salary ranging from $73,400 to $90,700 per annum, prorated.
