Portfolio and Secretariat Specialist

About the role
The University of Canterbury is seeking a Portfolio and Secretariat Specialist to lead coordination of senior management and executive‑level committees and support the central portfolio, programme and project management function.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate selected university management and executive committees, including work programmes, agenda preparation, paper development, minute taking and follow‑up monitoring.
- Draft, review and improve P3M‑related documentation and frameworks.
- Provide coaching and advisory support for portfolio, programme and project initiatives.
Required profile
- Extensive experience supporting executive or governance‑level committees in a complex environment.
- Proven expertise in portfolio, programme and project management (P3M).
- Excellent written communication and strong analytical abilities.
- Ability to engage senior leaders and manage multiple priorities.
Required skills
- Knowledge of PRINCE2 framework.
- Knowledge of PMP methodology.
- Familiarity with Agile approaches.
