Performance Engineer

About the role

Genesis is seeking a Performance Engineer to optimise the performance of thermal generation assets at the iconic Huntly Power Station. Reporting to the Reliability Engineering Lead, you will combine engineering expertise, plant data, and operational insights to drive efficiency and performance improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate performance improvement opportunities across the station.
• Analyse fuel usage, heat rate, and overall plant efficiency.
• Monitor and interpret plant performance data to spot inefficiencies.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to develop and implement practical solutions.
• Support both day‑to‑day plant performance and long‑term asset strategy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Process, Chemical or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience in power generation, process industry or heavy‑industrial environments.
• Strong understanding of fuel analysis, heat balance, and plant efficiency concepts.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced industrial setting and communicate technical insights to diverse stakeholders.
