Peer Support Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our team in Auckland. In this part‑time, permanent position you will use your lived experience to empower families navigating eating disorders, working closely with treatment teams and community partners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide peer‑led support and advocacy to individuals and families affected by eating disorders.
• Facilitate group sessions and one‑on‑one meetings, sharing lived experience and coping strategies.
• Collaborate with clinicians, therapists and other service providers to strengthen care pathways.
• Maintain accurate records of interactions while respecting confidentiality.
• Participate in monthly peer coaching and supervision to enhance practice.

Required profile

• Personal experience with eating disorders or close involvement in recovery.
• Strong communication and empathy skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
