Payroll Controller

About the role

The Payroll Controller serves as the Financial Controller and primary Quality Assurance lead for Payroll Operations in Namibia, safeguarding against financial loss, legal sanctions, and reputational damage. The role ensures the payroll environment is audit‑ready and fully compliant with Namibian financial and labour laws.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional customer service.
• Conduct regular quality‑assurance checks on all payroll streams, produce reports, perform trend analysis and implement corrective measures.
• Oversee regulatory and internal reporting, compile dashboards, statistics and submit Management Information to senior leadership.
• Escalate high‑risk or complex issues to the Head of P&C Operations and stay updated on legislative changes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience working in payroll or as an accountant.
• Strong behavioural competencies in checking, examining information, interacting with people, interpreting data and teamwork.

Required skills

• Business Administration skills.
• Experience with HCM business systems and People & Culture systems.
• Knowledge of payroll and P&C operations processes.
• Stakeholder management capability.
