Part‑Time Unit Coordinator (Nursing)

About the role

Ryman is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Hospital Unit at Hilda Ross Retirement Village as a Part‑Time Unit Coordinator. This role blends clinical leadership with hands‑on care, offering flexible start times across three days each week.

Key responsibilities

• Inspire, coach and support the nursing team to deliver high‑quality resident care.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive workplace culture.
• Oversee personalised care plans for Hospital Unit residents.
• Build strong relationships with residents’ families, whānau, allied health professionals and District Health Boards.
• Lead interRAI assessments and mentor staff in their development.
• Provide occasional on‑call coverage and flexible support for key events.
• Engage with staff on all shifts to foster teamwork and trust.
• Collaborate closely with the Clinical Manager and Village Manager as part of the leadership team.

Required profile

• Current Annual Practising Certificate (APC) as a Registered Nurse.
• Extensive experience as a Senior Registered Nurse or Nursing Leader.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, share knowledge and motivate a team.
• Kindness, compassion and a strong drive to deliver exceptional resident care.
• Willingness to share on‑call duties according to the village roster.

Required skills

• Competency in interRAI assessment tools (or willingness to become competent).
