Part‑time Lecturer – Nurse Education

About the role

UCOL is seeking a part‑time (0.6 FTE) Lecturer in Nurse Education to join its School of Nursing in Palmerston North. This permanent position supports nursing students during clinical placements, delivers classroom and simulation‑lab teaching, and contributes to online learning environments.

Key responsibilities

• Guide ākonga to meet the Nursing Council of New Zealand Standards of Competence during clinical placements.
• Deliver teaching sessions in the classroom, simulation lab, and virtual learning platforms.
• Travel within the region as needed to support students on placement sites.
• Engage in professional development, research activities, and curriculum enhancement.

Required profile

• At least three years of Registered Nurse experience with current registration on the Nursing Council of New Zealand.
• Demonstrated cultural competence and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.
• Passion for sharing clinical knowledge and supporting student learning.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Working towards or holding a higher nursing qualification is preferred.
