Part‑time EHS Officer (3 days/week)

About the role

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced EHS Officer to join its Auckland team on a part‑time basis (three days per week). You will support the New Zealand business by maintaining and improving the integrated EHSQ management system, ensuring compliance with legal and corporate standards, and driving a culture of zero harm.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the JCI Integrated Business Management Systems (EHSQ).
• Conduct and coordinate onsite audits, inspections and regular compliance checks.
• Support monthly EHSQ statistical reporting in collaboration with the Pacific EHSQ team.
• Manage non‑conformance reports, recommend corrective actions and drive continuous improvement.
• Provide training on quality, health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Assist in incident investigations, root‑cause analysis and corrective‑preventive actions.
• Prepare risk assessments and safe‑work method statements.
• Lead the Health & Safety Committee, offer advice to management and workers, and handle Return‑to‑Work coordination.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in a heavy‑manufacturing environment.
• Minimum Certificate 4 in Workplace Health and Safety.
• Degree or certificate in Quality Assurance is preferred.
• Qualification in incident investigation is an advantage.

Required skills

• Lead auditor competence for ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using SharePoint for document control.
