Packing Supervisor – Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Packing Technical Supervisor to lead our packing team at the Te Puke manufacturing facility. This on‑site, shift‑based role focuses on keeping packing lines running efficiently, solving technical issues quickly, and ensuring every product meets strict quality and food‑safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily packing operations to meet production targets safely and efficiently.
• Monitor line performance, downtime, waste, rework and output trends; conduct regular quality checks.
• Act as the primary technical lead for mechanical and electrical faults on packing equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment issues, lead root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance with Maintenance and Engineering teams.
• Manage packaging material inventory and work with Supply Chain to avoid shortages.
• Enforce health‑and‑safety procedures, PPE use and conduct machinery safety inspections.
• Support compliance with HACCP, GMP, FDA and New Zealand Risk Management Programme requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising packing operators and production technicians in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to lead a team on the production floor and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of food‑safety standards and regulatory compliance.
