Operations Manager – Defence Site (Trentham)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead multiple service teams at the Trentham Military Camp, a key Defence site in New Zealand. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for driving commercial performance, strengthening client partnerships and delivering high‑quality service outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead operational performance across several teams, ensuring service excellence and contract compliance.
• Manage budgets, forecasting and cost control to achieve profitability targets.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities to expand services and revenue.
• Coach, mentor and develop managers and staff to foster engagement and high performance.
• Champion health, safety, food safety, environmental and quality compliance standards.

Required profile

• Proven multi‑site operational leadership experience in hospitality, facilities or support services.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of managing budgets and delivering financial results.
• Demonstrated ability to build trusted client relationships and influence diverse stakeholders.
• Experience leading large teams, driving change and developing future leaders.
• Sound knowledge of health, safety, compliance and employment practices in operational environments.
