Operational Excellence Manager

About the role

The Operational Excellence Manager will lead the development and embedding of best‑in‑class operational standards across Compass Group's Business, Industry, Education, and Sports & Leisure portfolio in New Zealand. Acting as a strategic partner to senior leadership, you will shape innovation, service frameworks and future operating models to keep the business competitive and customer‑focused.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and continuously improve operational excellence frameworks, SOPs and brand standards.
• Analyse market trends, competitor activity and emerging innovations to inform strategic decisions.
• Lead major initiatives such as mobilisations, RFP processes, service redesigns and transformation programmes.
• Map and enhance end‑to‑end customer journeys to elevate client and consumer experiences.
• Build strong relationships with cross‑functional stakeholders, aligning operations, finance, safety and people teams.

Required profile

• Proven senior operational leadership experience, preferably in food service or a related service industry.
• Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and a record of driving performance and growth.
• Demonstrated ability to lead change, innovation and large‑scale transformation initiatives.
• Collaborative influencer capable of engaging and inspiring stakeholders at all levels.
• Highly analytical, organised and results‑driven with excellent communication and leadership skills.
