On Farm Assist – Seasonal Work Across NZ

About the role

Join LIC’s On Farm Assist team and travel across New Zealand dairy farms to provide essential on‑farm support. This seasonal, casual position runs from July/August through to April/May and offers a varied, hands‑on experience in a rural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with herd test support during milking sessions
• Collect DNA samples and conduct herd audits
• Weigh animals and record data for herd improvement programmes
• Provide on‑farm customer service to farmer clients
• Travel between farms safely and efficiently, adhering to schedules

Required profile

• Positive ‘can‑do’ attitude and quick learner
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong time‑management and attention to detail
• Physically fit, active and able to work early mornings
• Self‑motivated, professional and able to work independently
• Current full driver’s licence and right to work in NZ
