NIIO Coordinator

About the role

The NIIO Coordinator provides the first point of contact for the 24/7 Coroners Court service, handling inbound enquiries and ensuring that callers receive the appropriate response. You will support the Duty Coroner by managing administrative tasks and maintaining accurate case information.

Key responsibilities

• Answer inbound enquiries, identify caller needs and direct actions accordingly.
• Process administrative tasks related to matters notified to the Coroner.
• Maintain and update file management systems to ensure all parties have access to required information.
• Collect and collate correspondence from internal and external sources.
• Work a rotating 24/7 roster covering day, evening, night, weekend and public‑holiday shifts.

Required profile

• Ability to listen, analyse information quickly and make accurate decisions.
• Capability to handle stressful and emotionally difficult situations with sensitivity.
• Commitment to the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi.
• Flexibility to work varied shift patterns as rostered.
• NCEA Level 2 or demonstrated equivalent work experience.
