Night Auditor

About the role

The Night Auditor joins JO&JOE Auckland to welcome overnight guests, ensure the property runs smoothly after hours, and maintain a safe, clean environment throughout the night. This hybrid role blends guest service, operational oversight, and hands‑on housekeeping duties.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and check‑in guests arriving late, delivering a warm, personalised welcome.
• Act as the primary point of contact for guests, handling enquiries, reservations, complaints and service recovery.
• Oversee the safety and security of guests, staff and assets during the night.
• Promote hostel services, events and loyalty programmes to maximise revenue.
• Complete the night audit, including financial reconciliation, invoicing, cash handling and reporting.
• Prepare and distribute overnight reports, documenting incidents and operational needs for the next day.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of reception, shared spaces, corridors, bathrooms and other guest‑facing areas.
• Perform overnight cleaning tasks and support housekeeping to ensure the property is guest‑ready each morning.
• Identify and report maintenance, housekeeping and safety issues, taking corrective action where possible.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently during night hours and make sound decisions.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
