Network Operator – Water & Wastewater Reticulation

About the role

Veolia is seeking a dedicated Network Operator to join its South Taranaki team. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining water, wastewater and stormwater reticulation networks, ensuring reliable service delivery and compliance with health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on water, wastewater and stormwater networks.
• Act as the primary contact for customer service requests, assess needs and coordinate remedial actions.
• Accurately log reports, jobs and complete required paperwork.
• Support the development and implementation of capital works improvement programmes.
• Assist the Networks Supervisor with major repairs and pipeline replacements.
• Foster effective relationships with field staff, engineering, management, clients and suppliers.

Required profile

• Strong communicator able to interact with staff at all levels and with customers.
• Self‑starter with the ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively.
• High degree of personal integrity and a commitment to accurate record‑keeping.
• Willingness to build harmonious working relationships within a team environment.

Required skills

• Experience or willingness to be trained in water industry operations.
• Ability to conduct maintenance and repairs on reticulation networks.
• Proficiency in maintaining accurate work records and documentation.
