National Technical Manager

About the role

We are seeking a National Technical Manager to lead the development, delivery and maintenance of technical training programmes across our New Zealand network of materials‑handling workshops and field service teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and continuously improve technical training curricula for forklifts and other heavy equipment.
• Create, standardise and maintain operational procedures for technicians.
• Act as the internal technical expert, providing hands‑on support and coaching to workshop and field staff.
• Ensure technicians work safely, productively and consistently to minimise re‑work and drive commercial performance.

Required profile

• Strong background in forklift, heavy‑equipment or related mechanical/electrical fields with proven diagnostic and repair experience.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver technical training and coach technicians of varying experience levels.
• Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex technical concepts into clear, practical language.
• Solid knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance requirements for industrial equipment.
• Ability to influence, mentor and raise capability across diverse operational teams.
