Mower Operator – Parks & Greenspace Maintenance

About the role

Join Downer’s Bay of Plenty Greenspace team and help keep local parks, reserves and public spaces looking their best. This hands‑on position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating machinery and taking pride in community upkeep.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mowing, edge trimming and weed‑eating across assigned sites.
• Control vegetation and manage litter collection to maintain site presentation.
• Operate and maintain mowing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow scheduled runs, complete required documentation and use handheld electronic devices for time‑keeping.

Required profile

• Physically fit and reliable with a strong work ethic.
• Previous experience in mowing, landscaping, farming or horticulture is preferred.
• Full Class 1 driver’s licence (Class 2 is an advantage).
• Ability to work independently and follow safety procedures.

Required skills

• Full Class 1 driver’s licence.
• Machinery operation and basic maintenance.
• Use of handheld electronic devices for reporting.
